Max Fritz, Executive Director

​Max has been a key volunteer for Western Sky for several years and played a central role as a founding member in 2006. He served as board chair 2008-10 and was closely involved in the establishment of Western Sky’s first conservation project, the Nutrien-Nodwell Nature Preserve. Max served as strategic planning facilitator when we renewed our strategic plan. More recently, he took a lead role in implementing Western Sky’s signature program, the Bow & Beyond Initiative. This land owner outreach program has allowed Western Sky to further serve the land owner community and offer best practice in environmental stewardship.

Max resides in a rural community outside of Calgary and as an avid outdoors man, thoroughly enjoys the benefits of rural living. His backyard and playground is the Bow River watershed, while his energy and appreciation for life pursuits come from spending time on the land.
