Alequiers - a unique property and historic site

Philanthropists Elva and Paul Dennis gifted Alequiers to Western Sky in 2019. Located in the MD of Foothills, Alequiers is 75 acres of windswept land along the Highwood River, near Longview AB. Comprised of riparian habitat, mixed forest and modified grassland, the property contains high ecological, scenic and historic values. Western Sky has conserved this land with a conservation easement that will protect both its agricultural and heritage values in perpetuity.
An original 1900 homestead cabin located on the property is preserved by a Protective Notation under the Alberta’s Historical ​Resources Act. This special contribution by the Dennis family ensures future generations can experience firsthand our shared western heritage.
