Half Diamond Ranch
Conserved in perpetuity by a conservation easement Half Diamond Ranch is located in the beautiful Rosebud River Valley. The 1900 acre ranch is on the north bank of the river and characterized by large coulees that extend through the property. It is well vegetated with native grasses, shrubs, aspen and spruce on hill slopes and the coulees, which is perfect habitat for falcons.
The land has been in agricultural use since settlement. The uplands are cultivated, while the coulees and river valley remain natural, making them a perfect place for light recreation, including bird watching, hiking, exploring and canoeing. The area has several rich fossil beds.
