Protected by a conservation easement, the Dr. Bob and Gina Conservation Legacy Lands is 160 acres of native pasture and large wetland complexes, located northwest of Airdrie. It is part of a much larger complex of lakes and wetlands that make up the catch basin for West Nose Creek. There are eight distinct waterbodies on this property, that highlight its importance to flood and drought mitigation in the area. The high density of naturally occurring wetlands and native grasses make it pristine watershed and wildlife habitat. There is a large population of migratory birds that use the large lakes and wetlands on the property as a refuge and breeding ground.
Conserving this property honours the wishes of the late Dr. Bob, who loved this land and nature.
